Schooner Amazone lies in Turku between museum ship Sigyn and Suomen Joutsen. In the summer of 2016 Amazone sails to Germany from May to June and within Finland July to September. Come and enjoy a sailing trip on this wonderful vessel! Sailing suits both young and old.
The Amazone has a steel frame which is 35 m long and 6.8 m wide. It has 7 sails with a combined area of 440 m2. The engine is a GM 8 cylinder 320 HP diesel, travel speed at 6-7 knots. Cabins: 7 x 2 person cabins, 3 x 3 person cabins. Manufactured in 1963, the ship originally served as a fishing vessel on the North Sea. In 1993, the ship was converted for charter traffic in Holland. Request information
Late Lunch Cruise to the Open Seas of Airisto
The unique landscapes of Airisto are a very special part of the finnish archipelago. During the 5 hours sailing we sail around the main areas of Airisto, depending of the winds. Route goes via Pukinsalmi, Lapilansalmi, Iso-Tervi and Rajakari, totally about 25 nautical miles. You can also have a glimpse of the big passenger vessels sailing between Finland and Sweden. During the voyage you have chance to see the modern villas on the Hirvensalo shoreline and the traditional old villas on the Ruissalo shoreline. Our route also goes by the old restaurant island Loistokari. On the fjard it is possible to set sails almost despite of the wind directions, and enjoy of the silence of sailing. During the voyage we give you a chance to take part in the handling of the sails and steering the vessel. All our crew members speak Finnish and English, optional also Swedish and German.

Have you always dreamed of cruising the seas on a traditional, wooden sailing ship? Now's your chance to realize that dream on Schooner Amazone. Come on a sailing adventure with us and see the historic cities of the Baltic sea from a different perspective, when the schooner sails from Turku to Tallinn. See the crew work the masts and sails of the boats and take part yourself, if you want. The crew will give you sailing lessons during the trip.
Departure is from the historic city of Turku, the oldest city in Finland and the former capital. On route to Tallinn you can visit the beautiful island of Högsåra, which is part of the Archipelago National Park. You will also get the visit the southern most tip of Finland, Hanko, a beautiful peninsula surrounded by the sea from three directions. From there you will sail onward to Tallinn, the capitol of Estonia. A wonderful city with a great deal of medieval architecture. In Tallinn you can get to know the city's history, see the sights and shop in the Old town. The adventure ends in Helsinki, Finland's current capitol city. You can admire it's neoclassical architecture from the sea, as you approach the harbor.
